Visiting Grand Lake, CO.

My nickname is “B”. I graduated from UNC-Charlotte in 1983 with a BA in Education (K-12), and entered active service with the US Army. I began teaching high school upon completion of my tour of duty. I have taught Language Arts and Social Studies for one year at the middle school level. English, Composition, Public Speaking, Theater, Forensics, and Technical Theater are are the subjects I have taught most. I seemed to gravitate to the theater throughout the majority of my experiences. Most recently, I was a Strategies of Instruction teacher, Assistant Dean of Students, dorm parent, girls’ hockey coach and rock climbing instructor at The Forman School in Litchfield, CT. The Forman School is a 9-12 boarding school specifically targeting students who learn differently.
I enjoy racquetball, mountain biking, rock climbing, snowboarding, barefoot water-skiing and teaching adaptive water-skiing to skiers with physical challenges. My wife of over 31 years, Mary, is back on active duty with the US Air Force and stationed at Mountain Home AFB, ID. We have two daughters, one son-in-law and a dog. The younger daughter is US Army stationed at Fort Huachuca, AZ, and the older daughter and her husband live in Manhattan, Kansas. She is the Operations Manager at Western Extralite and he is in the US Army stationed at Fort Riley.
I hope to develop competency with technology to help me mentor teachers and students enhancing learning at all levels in all subject areas. I hope to return to the classroom and an administrative role upon completion of his postgraduate studies at BSU.
Come along and join me as I record my voyage.
